VR is at its best when somebody else is in the room with you, even if that room is virtual. This list ranks the best co-op VR games of 2026 that you can buy today, using Steam user review scores, store prices we checked this morning, and how well each game actually works with friends. Every pick runs on PC VR, and that includes Valve’s Steam Frame through SteamVR. Most are also on Meta Quest, and a few support PS VR2 or cross-play between platforms.
The short version: Phasmophobia is the best co-op VR game for most groups, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is the best pick when only one person owns a headset, and Arizona Sunshine 2 is the best value this week at $11.99, 70 percent off its $39.99 list price.

How We Ranked These Games
Metaverse Watcher doesn’t run a hardware lab, so we don’t pretend to have played every session of every game for this list. Instead, the ranking weighs three things you can check yourself: player sentiment (the share of positive Steam user reviews and how many reviews it is based on), how much of the game is built around co-op rather than a bolted-on mode, and how easy it is to get a group together, meaning price, cross-play and platform reach. A game with 360,000 reviews at 94 percent carries more weight than one with 76 reviews at 80 percent. Where Metacritic shows a critic score on Steam, we mention it.
1. Phasmophobia: The Best Co-op VR Game for Most Groups

Kinetic Games’ Phasmophobia is the most-reviewed game on this list by a wide margin: 94 percent of 360,770 English-language Steam reviews are positive. Steam describes it as a 4-player online co-op psychological horror game. Your team sets up equipment in a haunted location, gathers evidence and names the ghost before it hunts you. VR is optional on PC, which matters for co-op, because friends without a headset can still join on a monitor. It is on sale for $13.99 right now.
PlayStation owners have a route in too. The PS5 version added PS VR2 support in October 2024, with eye-tracked foveated rendering and cross-play between PS VR2 and flatscreen PS5 players. There is no native Quest version, so Quest owners need to play through a PC with Link, Air Link or Steam Link. If you like this kind of fear, our best VR horror games of 2026 list has more picks.
2. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes: Best With One Headset

The highest-rated game here, at 98 percent of 8,145 English-language reviews, is also the oldest: Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes launched in 2015 and still has no real rival as a party game. One player wears the headset and faces a ticking bomb. Everyone else holds the defusal manual but can’t see the bomb, so the whole game is shouted, panicked communication. It is the cheapest way to share VR with people who have never tried it, at $14.99, and it is also available on Quest.
3. Ancient Dungeon: The Best Co-op Roguelite

Built largely by solo developer Eric Thullen, Ancient Dungeon holds a 95 percent positive score from 1,638 Steam reviews. It is a fast, physics-based roguelite with procedurally generated floors, and its store page confirms solo play or co-op with up to 4 players, with cross-platform multiplayer. Runs are short enough for a weeknight session, and the voxel art style is easy on standalone hardware. Price: $19.99.
4. Demeo: The Best Tabletop Co-op in VR

Resolution Games’ Demeo turns a dungeon crawl into a board game you lean over with your friends. It is turn-based, which makes it the most comfortable pick on this list for people prone to motion sickness (see our VR motion sickness guide). Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer and VR as optional, so a friend on a laptop can join. It has an 83 Metacritic score and 87 percent positive Steam reviews, and costs $24.99. Fans of the format should also look at the studio’s licensed follow-up, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked ($29.99 on Steam).
5. Dungeons of Eternity: Best Melee Co-op

Where Demeo is about planning, Othergate’s Dungeons of Eternity is about swinging swords, throwing axes and casting spells with your own arms through ever-changing dungeons. It started on Quest and reached Steam in September 2025, where 90 percent of 961 reviews are positive. It’s $19.79 this week, 34 percent off.
6. Arizona Sunshine 2: Best Value This Week

Vertigo Games’ zombie sequel Arizona Sunshine 2 pairs you with a dog named Buddy and lets a friend join the campaign online. It holds an 80 Metacritic score and 84 percent positive English-language Steam reviews. At $11.99, down from $39.99, it is the cheapest full-length co-op campaign on this list today. It is also on Quest and PS VR2.
7. Into the Radius 2: Best Hardcore Co-op

Into the Radius 2 is the slow, tense survival shooter on this list: manual reloading, scarce ammo and anomalies in the Pechorsk zone. Steam lists co-op for up to four players. Buyers should know the platform limits before buying for a group. The Quest 3 and 3S version, which left Early Access on August 27, 2026, caps co-op at two players, and the developer says there is no cross-play between Quest and PC VR, according to Road to VR and CM Games’ own release notes. It costs $39.99 on both stores.
8–12: More Co-op VR Games Worth Buying
- Arizona Sunshine Remake ($19.99, 88% of 1,256): a full rebuild of the 2016 original that lets you face the undead with up to three other survivors, with cross-platform multiplayer.
- Cook-Out ($19.99, 89% of 170, Metacritic 86): Resolution Games’ sandwich-making chaos game is the friendliest pick for non-gamers and supports cross-platform play.
- After the Fall ($19.99, 76% of 1,548, Metacritic 76): a squad shooter in a frozen Los Angeles from the Arizona Sunshine team, built around co-op with cross-platform multiplayer.
- Ghosts of Tabor ($24.99, 70% of 7,542): an extraction shooter inspired by Escape from Tarkov, best for squads who also want PvP.
- Death Horizon: Reloaded ($11.99 on sale, 80% of 76): a cheap, arcade-style zombie shooter for short sessions.
New and Upcoming Co-op VR Games to Watch in November
November is a strong month for co-op, and two launches could earn a place on this list once players have had time with them. Our VR release calendar for November 2026 has every date.
- PAYDAY: Aces High (November 5, $24.99): Fast Travel Games’ four-player co-op heist shooter for Quest, SteamVR and Steam Frame. Background is in our PAYDAY: Aces High playtest coverage.
- Sol Protocol (Steam Early Access November 11): a three-seat co-op space roguelike, already on Quest 3 and 3S, with cross-play. See our Sol Protocol PC VR report.
- EXOSHOCK ($19.99, Early Access since October 29): a 1–4 player co-op PvE shooter on Quest 3 and PC. Only 15 Steam reviews exist so far (66% positive), so we are holding it out of the ranking for now. It led our New VR Games This Week roundup.
Buying Tips for Co-op VR
- Check cross-play before you buy for a group. Cross-platform support differs from game to game, and Into the Radius 2 is a reminder that the same game can behave differently on Quest and PC.
- Steam and the Meta Horizon Store are separate purchases for most of these games. Buy on the store where your friends play.
- Wait for Black Friday if you can. Several picks are already discounted, and the big sales start around November 27. Our deals coverage will list only prices we have verified.
- Want free options first? Our best free Quest games list includes multiplayer games that cost nothing, and our Horizon+ explainer covers whether Meta’s subscription catalog is worth it for Quest owners.
We will update this list as new co-op games launch and as scores change. Prices and review figures reflect Steam store pages on November 2, 2026.
