The Chinese startup behind the NIMO AI glasses brand has CLOSED an ANGEL round worth “several hundred million” yuan at a valuation of RMB 1.5 BILLION, according to 36Kr, which first reported the deal on October 8. TechNode followed on October 10. Neither outlet gives an EXACT amount, and the company has NOT published one.
What was disclosed
36Kr names the investors as Gobi Partners, Yuanhe Puhua and several other Chinese firms. Its English pages render two of those names DIFFERENTLY from one story to the next (Bohua or Bora Capital, Shangshi or Shanshi Capital), and they even spell the company as both “Bit Fantasy” and “Bitmojo”. Gobi Partners is the ONE investor every report agrees on.
The money is earmarked for THREE things, per 36Kr: product R&D, CHANNEL expansion and an OVERSEAS push. TechNode adds new products and core technologies to that list.
The traction claims
The company was FOUNDED in July 2025 and began SHIPPING its first product in APRIL 2026. In an interview with 36Kr, a company executive identified as He Dilong said NIMO opened with about 1,000 reservations and has since reached monthly sales of “THOUSANDS” of units. Sales run through Douyin, JD.com and roughly 150 physical stores, including LOHO eyewear shops, and the company says it works closely with Hong Kong-listed eyewear maker Asia Optical.
Those figures are SELF-REPORTED. No unit total, REVENUE number or product PRICE appears in either report.
Why it matters
A RMB 1.5 billion valuation for a company that is barely 15 MONTHS old, with monthly volume in the low thousands, says more about investor APPETITE for AI eyewear in China than about NIMO itself. The bet on OFFLINE retail is the more telling detail: the executive argued that glasses need to be TRIED on, which is the same reasoning behind Meta’s push through optical chains. Whether NIMO can carry that model overseas, where it has no stated PARTNER or TIMELINE, is the open QUESTION.
