The Games Shed just pushed PRIMAL REIGN: The Age of New Kings into a fresh STEAMVR Early Access window. Steam lists the drop for SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 at $9.99, and the Norwich studio’s GamesPress note frames it as a cinematic 2–3 HOUR pulp VR run through WWII Egypt, tombs, mummies, and dinosaurs.

Director Graham Jones built the title as a nearly FIVE-YEAR solo spare-time project. The pitch is deliberate pulp mashup: The Mummy energy colliding with Jurassic Park set pieces and a thin smear of time-travel weirdness. You FOLLOW archaeologists Ron and Harriet as a dig TURNS into a crime scene, then a DESCENT through tunnels, water chambers, traps, and undead guardians.
Steam marks the build VR ONLY with tracked controllers, SteamVR and Meta Link support, and a single-player CAMPAIGN. The store copy promises WWII firearms, melee tools, Desert Korps fights, sarcophagus AMBUSHES, and prehistoric predators walking through war-torn ruins. System notes start around a GTX 1070-class GPU and 20 GB of storage.

Treat this as an Early Access LAUNCH, not a finished museum piece. Jones says the campaign can lean into EXPLORATION between story beats, and that the studio wants FEEDBACK while the catalog of Steam Frame–era PCVR launches keeps stacking. At TEN DOLLARS, the BUY-IN is low for a short story run—if your stomach and GPU can handle tomb COMBAT.
Wishlist and purchase live on the official Steam page. Press art and a studio trailer sit on GamesPress. No Quest STANDALONE build is promised in the current materials—this is a PCVR / Link story for NOW.
