D.E.C.A.Y. Goes Live in SteamVR Early Access at $24.99

D.E.C.A.Y. is no longer a wishlist tease. AGaming+ shipped the Fallout-flavored PC VR survival shooter into Steam Early Access on August 26, 2026 — VR-only, single-player, OpenXR — and the store page now sits at Very Positive with 82 reviews (69 positive). List price is $24.99.

That is the clean status check. UploadVR covered the run-up on August 10, when the target was August 21 and the pitch was a bunker-and-surface loop from the solo studio behind Z.O.N.A. Project X (2023) and Z.O.N.A. Origin (2025). Steam’s live listing moved the Early Access date to August 26. The developer still flags roughly a year of Early Access before a full release.

What ships in Early Access

Per Steam’s Early Access notes and About page, the current build aims for more than 10 hours of core content: open surface sectors, missions, resource gathering, combat, character progression, equipment upgrades, and maintenance of the A.C.C.S. “Atlas” network — the installations that keep a radiation and thermal shield over the region. Every in-game 24-hour cycle reshuffles resources, enemies, and events.

You run Facility 16 under a 365-day contract with the Department of Environmental Control and Yield. Officially it distributes supplies. In the fiction, it is a control apparatus over a dying surface. A search bot handles rift scanning and modifier extraction; lose it and surface runs get empty-handed. The store lists 32 weapons with physical reload and handling details (the M88 “Hunter” carbine is the cited bolt-action example), plus factions such as Legacy and its “Judges.”

Hardware bar and limits

Minimum asks for an RTX 2060-class GPU, 16 GB RAM, and OpenXR. Vive Wands are explicitly unsupported. Recommended is RTX 3080-class with a 90 Hz target. The game is VR Only — no flat-screen path on the Steam page.

AGaming+ discloses limited generative AI use for a small set of images and visual elements; the studio says nearly all content was built by hand. Violence and blood are flagged in the mature-content note.

Why it matters now

September’s VR calendar is crowded with Quest dates and Steam Frame speculation. D.E.C.A.Y. is already playable on PC VR, from a studio that has shipped two prior hardcore shooters, and the early review sample is holding above 80% positive. That is a quieter story than a headset launch — and a clearer one for anyone still hunting a bunker-sim successor vibe without waiting on console ports.
