One Hamsa says VALVE asked for a DAY-ONE STEAM FRAME port of Underdogs — and the studio’s Frame build is LIVE without MULTIPLAYER. Mixed News rounded up the claim on SEPTEMBER 28, pointing back to the studio’s own Steam post, “WE ON FRAME,” published SEPTEMBER 22.

In that announcement, One Hamsa writes that the team had been “fine tuning this game to it for months,” and frames the ask in the game’s own voice: Valve approached it “asking for a day-one port for a new Valve headset made just for Gamers.” The studio’s “GabeN called” line is its own SLANG, not a documented conversation with Gabe Newell. Valve has said NOTHING public about soliciting launch-day ports, and One Hamsa does not say the work was FUNDED.
What Ships on Frame — and What Does Not
Underdogs has been on Steam since JANUARY 2024 and lists for $29.99 in the US. The Frame note is blunt about the gap: “MULTIPLAYER will be supported on Frame SOON,” with “we’re not done porting it, but we’re on it,” and NO DATE attached. Multiplayer already exists as separate Steam content for the base game; the Frame cut simply has not caught up yet.
That makes the day-one claim a SINGLE-PLAYER Frame welcome more than a full feature parity promise. Owners who bought Frame for local play can jump in; anyone waiting for cage matches on the new headset still has to WAIT.

A Wider Frame Patch Wave
Mixed News places One Hamsa beside three other studios that posted Frame-specific notes between SEPTEMBER 21 and SEPTEMBER 26. Othergate’s free Tomb Extraction update for Dungeons of Eternity is marked STEAM FRAME VERIFIED, with finger tracking and experimental OpenXR for PC VR. Buckethead Entertainment’s Rumble patch 0.5.1.7 improved anti-aliasing on Frame but DISABLED foveated rendering “temporarily due to issues.” RUST LTD. pushed Steam Frame support for Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades to the EXPERIMENTAL branch on SEPTEMBER 26, adding Frame controller models, bindings, and platform detection, with a main-branch push aimed at “next Friday” (OCTOBER 2) if testing holds.
Of those four notes, Mixed News stresses, only One Hamsa describes Valve ASKING for anything. The rest is ordinary LAUNCH hygiene for a new headset: ports, verified badges, and temporary graphics tradeoffs. Valve’s own tally sat at 143 Steam Frame Verified games on SEPTEMBER 18, fewer than half of them VR titles.
What to Watch Next
The useful CHECKLIST is short. Watch for a Frame multiplayer build of Underdogs with a dated patch note — not another vibe post. Watch whether H3VR’s Frame support leaves the experimental branch on schedule. And treat “Valve asked” as a STUDIO claim until Valve confirms how it courts day-one ports. For now, the FACT on the store is simpler: Underdogs is PLAYABLE on Steam Frame at LAUNCH, and multiplayer is the FEATURE still owed.
