Exoshock Open Beta Starts September 17 on Quest and SteamVR

Exoshock locks its last free playtest before Early Access. Developer PolarityOne (published by VRAL Games) says the open beta begins September 17 on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S, on SteamVR, and on flatscreen PC — with cross-play across those modes for solo or up to four-player co-op.

UploadVR reports the September 17 window as the final free playtest ahead of an Early Access push later this fall. That matches the live Steam app 3549390 store copy, which still lists the title as Coming soon under Early Access while promoting the open beta and a free Playtest App (demo app 4805710).

What the beta includes

Per UploadVR and the Steam listing, the open beta covers single-player and multiplayer co-op runs for up to four players. Flatscreen PC players can join the same sessions as VR players. Ahead of the 17th, the free Playtest App already opens a staging area: shooting range, weapons, loadouts, tutorial, and character customization so squads can warm up before the beta goes live.

What Exoshock is pitching

Steam’s short description frames Exoshock as a 1–4 co-op sci-fi PvE shooter built for VR immersion and traditional FPS play in one hybrid codebase. The store page leans on Unreal Engine 5 firefights, adaptive AI, loadout customization, and missions that shift mid-run — derelict warships, life-support failures, and other scripted pivots. Categories on the listing include Single-player, Online Co-op, Cross-Platform Multiplayer, and VR Supported. Minimum PC bar listed today: Windows 10 64-bit, an i7-4790K / Ryzen 5 1500X class CPU, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 970 / RX 570 class GPU, DirectX 12, 12 GB storage, and SteamVR.

Quest players can track the title on the Meta Quest store page. Steam wishlist and demo buttons are live now; Early Access pricing and the exact fall ship date are still unset on the store API as of this writing.
