Play XD and publisher Impact Inked have opened a limited beta for Primal Rumble, the slapstick combat card battler heading to Meta Quest. UploadVR reported the beta live today; spots are capped, and signup runs through the game’s Discord.
The pitch is a toybox that lands on your coffee table. Players collect vinyl-styled creatures called Primals, build decks of turn-based move cards, and face up to three other collectors in the same arena. Matches run in sealed VR or mixed reality, where arenas scale from desktop playset to living-room floor.
During the beta, Impact Inked and Play XD say testers can sample the comedy combat loop, try new moves, experiment with decks, and feed notes back before launch. Wishlisting is already live on the Meta Horizon Store. The store page and earlier GamesPress materials frame the retail build as free to install, with two Primals unlocked at the start, more than 300 earnable move cards, and no pay-to-win card shop.
That monetization stance matters for a family-facing Quest title. Cosmetics and extra Primals can be sold; combat cards are earned in play. Modes cover solo progression plus two- and four-player PvP. The studio’s public materials still point to Early Access on Quest as the next commercial step after this closed beta wave.
