Grablings Is Live Free on Quest. Triangle Labs Ships While Outbreak Sits Shelved.

Grablings: Paint ’N Seek is already live on Meta Quest — free to play — while Triangle Factory’s other September bet, Breachers: Outbreak, sits on the shelf. That split is the story. The parent studio that built Forefront and Breachers spun up Triangle Labs for lighter social experiments, shipped Paint ’N Seek on August 27, and followed with a City map and scoring tweak on September 3. Ten days later, Outbreak is effectively canceled for lack of interest.

UploadVR’s August 13 Showcase write-up introduced the pitch cleanly: you play as Grablings — “interdimensional creatures who live for mischief and chaos” — in a social hide-and-seek loop. Hiders paint themselves into the scenery. Seekers hunt them down. The trailer that debuted at the VR Games Showcase is still the best short look at the tone; IGN carried the same cut under its Showcase reel.

What is on Quest right now

AltLab’s Quest listing and Triangle Factory’s own site put the same facts on the page:

  • Released August 27, 2026 on Meta Quest (Quest 2 and Quest 3 called out across store trackers)
  • Free to play, multiplayer party / hangout framing
  • Publisher credit: Triangle Factory; development under the Triangle Labs label
  • Standing and sitting play modes

Early store ratings on AltLab’s tracker sat around 4.6 / 5 from a few dozen reviews — thin sample, but not a ghost town. Discord for the title is public at Triangle Factory’s invite link.

City map and the September 3 scoring pass

On September 3 the studio pushed the first named content drop after launch. The update note on AltLab’s page is blunt:

  • New map: City — described as a quiet, Italian-inspired town for Paint ’N Seek sessions
  • Points for being spotted but not found — hiders who get clocked visually without being tagged still earn score

That second change matters more than a map skin. Hide-and-seek in VR collapses when the only win condition is a clean grab. Paying out partial credit for a near-miss keeps hiders in the round instead of rage-quitting the lobby.

Triangle Labs vs. Outbreak

Metaverse Watcher already covered Triangle Factory shelving Breachers: Outbreak after interest failed to clear the studio’s bar. Grablings is the other side of the same company: a free social loop that can ship, iterate, and keep Discord warm without extraction-shooter marketing weight. Forefront and Breachers remain the hardcore brand. Triangle Labs is the pressure valve.

Whether Paint ’N Seek grows into a multi-adventure Grablings catalog — the studio’s own page teases “adventures to come” beyond the Paint Dimension — is an open product question. What is not open is the store status. The game is downloadable on Quest today, the City update is live, and the Outbreak contrast is the cleanest read on how Triangle Factory is allocating risk this month.
