Acute Immersive Powers Branded visionOS Immersive Video Apps

UploadVR’s Laura Mingail maps how ACUTE IMMERSIVE is turning Apple Vision Pro’s immersive-video rush into a product category of its own: semi-custom, white-label visionOS apps backed by a publishing PLATFORM studios can run without shipping a new binary every time a cut lands.

The pitch is blunt. Apple TV, Amplium, Fovii, Theatre, and others already HOST immersive catalogs. Acute’s bet is that brands and studios will want their OWN destination — with CONTROL over UX, pricing, notifications, and analytics — instead of renting shelf space on someone else’s app.

What Ships Today

Since launching last year, Acute says it has helped ship the 2026 Apple Design Award winner for Social Impact, PRIMARY: NEWS IN DEPTH, plus Blue Frog Immersive. Acute Pro covers PRIVATE in-headset review for teams that need to approve masters before they go LIVE. The company counts more than 120 immersive studios on the platform as of May 2026, according to its site.

Formats are the stack story. Acute focuses on material shot with Blackmagic’s URSA Cine Immersive camera, but also SUPPORTS Apple Immersive Video, Spatial Video from iPhone, mono or stereo 180° and 360°, 3D movies, and standard 16:9. Product pages list ingest up to 16K source resolution and adaptive HEVC / MV-HEVC delivery, with playback ceilings that depend on the source and DEVICE.

Publish Without Resubmitting the App

The operational hook is catalog MANAGEMENT. Studios upload and organize files into playlists, review cuts in-headset, add titles and thumbnails, then PUBLISH new titles without submitting a fresh app BUILD. Monetization is client-side: individual videos, bundles, or SUBSCRIPTIONS. Acute charges a licensing fee, plus BANDWIDTH, and bills customizations as services.

Mingail flags the marketing ANGLE: deep links, thumbnail conversion, watch-time metrics, and push notifications for NEW uploads. Owning the app means owning the AUDIENCE DATA — and the obligation to keep that audience engaged.

Android XR Is on the Roadmap

Vision Pro is the SHIPPING surface today. UploadVR reports Acute plans to EXPAND reach through apps it powers, with upcoming Android XR SUPPORT that includes XREAL Aura glasses. Acute’s public product FAQ still lists Apple Vision Pro as the current headset target; the Aura line is the near-term EXTENSION story, not a live storefront claim.

Pricing stays FREE to start — Acute advertises 100GB+ storage, unlimited uploads, and no card required — then moves to CUSTOM quotes for white-label distribution and enterprise deployments. That keeps the on-ramp low while reserving the real MARGIN for branded apps and on-site OPERATOR installs that sync fleets of headsets from an iPad.

Why It Matters

Immersive video libraries on Vision Pro are still THIN relative to flatscreen streaming. A CMS that lets studios OWN discovery, pricing, and analytics is a practical reply to that GAP — if enough brands actually fund the content. Acute’s Primary and Blue Frog credits are the proof POINTS; Android XR is the next distribution BET to watch.
