Echoes of Mora Ships on Steam Today. Separate VR and Flatscreen Apps.

Echoes of Mora is LIVE on Steam as of September 21. Berlin studio Selkies Interactive shipped it as TWO separate PRODUCTS — a flatscreen adventure and a dedicated VR build — rather than one combined LISTING. MIXED confirmed the dual-app UNLOCK around midday UTC, matching the release dates now stamped on both Steam store pages.

At U.S. launch pricing, the flatscreen game is $14.99 (currently $13.49 with a 10% launch DISCOUNT) and Echoes of Mora VR is $17.99 ($16.19 discounted). Both demos remain FREE. The studio’s August Steam note explained the SPLIT: a single page would FORCE every screenshot, system requirement, and review to cover an experience the buyer may not WANT.

Arm-Swim VR With a Seamless Flat Mode

In the VR app you SWIM with your own ARMS through motion TRACKING, with optional joystick locomotion. The same build includes a FULL non-VR mode you can SWITCH into from the in-game menu without RESTARTING — useful when a headset BATTERY runs low. Steam lists support for SteamVR and Meta Quest Link on Quest 2 and Quest 3. The flatscreen app carries NO VR flag and plays with mouse and keyboard or a controller.

The premise is compact. Mora’s brother vanishes near a violet lake, her village DROWNED days later, and you SEARCH flooded streets for hidden objects and “Traces” — lost MEMORIES that play back moments from before the FLOOD. Sealed portals called Echoes DROP you into the village as it WAS, where Mora is the only person who can SEE you. Selkies pegs a playtime around 2–3 HOURS, with 20 Echoes in the full game and 11 supported LANGUAGES.

A Collapsed Publisher Deal, Then a Solo Ship

Selkies delayed from an April target after publisher talks began, then posted on August 17 that the deal fell THROUGH. The three co-founders — Meike Strippel, Daria Pankau, and Namin Hansen — said the extra months went into BUILDING and polishing the village, and that what ships in September is “far more” than an April build would have been. The studio describes itself as an all-female Berlin team founded in 2023; its team page lists six people including an intern. Echoes of Mora made the Official Selection of the London Games Festival 2026.

The flatscreen DEMO has been live since August 20, 2025 and stood at 93% POSITIVE from 32 user reviews on launch day — a rating for the demo, not the finished game, and a small SAMPLE. It covers about a third of the MAP and the first five of 20 Echoes. A VR demo moved to its own Steam page on August 17.

For headset OWNERS, the story is simple: the DATE locked weeks ago is NOW a buy BUTTON. Two store PAGES, two PRICE points, one flooded VILLAGE — and a small studio that chose a dual-app SHIP over waiting on a publisher that never CLOSED.
