Threads is now native on Meta Quest and Meta Ray-Ban Display, part of a broader summer glasses software push UploadVR rounded up today. The Quest client landed in early August as a Horizon Store app that Meta also preinstalled on most headsets. Ray-Ban Display got the feed in late July.

UploadVR’s David Heaney frames the dual ship as overdue housekeeping more than a Connect surprise. Threads launched three years ago as Meta’s X competitor and now sits near X on active users, with a thinner political and intellectual crowd. A browser path already worked on Quest; the native app is a cleaner layout. The friction was distribution: Meta force-downloaded the client onto headsets, including mid-session for some players.
Ray-Ban Display is the clearer fit
On Meta Ray-Ban Display, the monocular HUD glasses, Threads sits beside Instagram. UploadVR describes a simplified feed: scroll with the Neural Band thumb-on-index gesture, then like, share, or watch video. It is not a full desktop Threads client. It is readable enough for a heads-up glance.

Summer glasses stack around Muse Spark
The same UploadVR roundup lists the rest of the summer drop for Ray-Ban Display and the screenless Ray-Ban / Oakley Meta glasses:
- Meta AI moved onto Muse Spark, Meta’s 2026 model line after the Llama 4 reset.
- Photo Ultra HDR for deeper color on captures.
- “Hey Meta, take a dynamic photo” for a short burst, with best-frame pick later in the phone companion.
- Instagram Instants — one-view stories via “Hey Meta, share an Instant.”
- WhatsApp group voice chat started from the phone, with music, capture, and notifications still running.
- Battery Saver Mode that limits high-drain features.
- Early Access (US and Canada): Wi-Fi Aware to cut the iPhone “Meta AI wants to Join Wi-Fi network…” prompt on media import.
None of that replaces a Connect keynote. Meta Connect 2026 still runs September 23–24, with glasses software already thick on the published agenda and hardware teases still unverified. Threads on Quest and Ray-Ban Display is the live product story ahead of that stage: Meta is putting its social apps on every face-worn surface it already sells.
