A London preview of No Brakes Games’ sheep-herding VR puzzler puts new hands-on detail on the September 29 Quest and SteamVR launch. You can rotate the diorama. The flock will still follow you off a cliff.
The Big Lead published a hands-on preview of Tiny Flock dated September 11, after a press event for the Human Fall Flat studio’s first VR exclusive. The ship date stays September 29, 2026 on Meta Quest and SteamVR, matching the studio page and the September 1 Games Press lock at $18.99 / €18.99 / £15.99.

What the preview actually shows
The Big Lead’s Ryan Woodrow describes each level as a miniature diorama you can pick up, move, and rotate — a freer camera than something like Moss, and a deliberate way to hide puzzle pieces from the first glance. In one early stage he played, half a bridge sits in front of the pit; the other half only appears after you turn the level around, then both halves have to be slotted together so sheep can cross.
Hands become a carrot-on-a-stick lure. Sheep follow where you lead, including over edges if you are careless. That matches the studio’s own warning on nobrakesgames.com: the flock is patient, slightly wayward, and loyal to a fault. The preview leans hard on the claim that even simple solutions need two hands and direct VR manipulation — not a flat-screen port with a headset checkbox.

Still 21 dioramas. Still VR-only.
Nothing in the preview changes the feature sheet already on the developer page and in Games Press:
- 21 hand-crafted diorama levels
- Custom physics built for tactile VR interaction
- Full hand tracking and passthrough on Meta Quest
- Achievements, collectibles, and an original cello score
- VR exclusive — no flat mode
The Big Lead notes the soundtrack was written almost entirely by a cello artist hired because he was a producer’s favorite musician, then brought to London to play a solo set at the preview. That is color, not a gameplay claim. Treat it as event atmosphere, not a storefront bullet.
Calendar context
September 29 sits after CleanSheet Soccer 2, Sol Protocol’s Quest Early Access, and CONVRGENCE 1.0 on the 17th, and after Into the Radius 2’s PS VR2 debut on the 24th. Tiny Flock is the cozy, family-facing closer on that slate — from a studio that already sold tens of millions of copies of Human Fall Flat and is choosing a narrower VR lane on purpose.
Pre-order is live on Quest. Steam is wishlistable now for the September 29 unlock. We covered the date lock earlier this month; today’s hands-on is the first clear look at how those rotatable dioramas play before the flock ships.
