Tales Of Glory 4: Ragnarok is live on Steam today. BlackTale Games unlocked Early Access on September 9, 2026 at $29.99, with Steam’s store API listing coming_soon: false and a firm release stamp. Two days ago the buy box was still a wishlist countdown. That gap is closed.
The studio’s own Steam news post counted down the final hour this morning: large-scale medieval VR warfare, Viking warbands, villages and battlefields, dungeons, and a modding SDK planned for the end of September. Ragnarok is framed as a prequel to the Tales of Glory line — northern tribes under Eastbornian rule, a young warrior tasked with unity rather than conquest — and the Early Access FAQ still promises a one-year window with no price change between Early Access and the final build.

Controller gate still stands
Steam’s additional notes are not fine print. Ragnarok needs two-button VR controllers — Valve Index, Oculus Touch, or similar. Vive Wands are incompatible. Windows Mixed Reality devices are incompatible. If your living-room kit is still Wand-era hardware, this is not your September 9 download.
Modding is the other concrete promise. BlackTale says the TOG4 Modding SDK is planned by the end of September, with community feedback steering combat, modes, campaign content, and balance through Steam forums and Discord. Treat the SDK date as a plan, not a ship guarantee — but it is sharper than most Early Access pages bother to put in writing on day one.
Why it lands in this pile
September 9 on SteamVR is crowded on purpose. Detective VR also went live today at $14.99 on Steam and PS VR2. Squingle Arcade targets the same storefront date. Gunman Contracts Stand Alone follows September 10. Ragnarok is the physics-melee / warband entry — Blade & Sorcery adjacent in feel, Mount & Blade adjacent in fantasy, Viking-skinned and Early Access by design.
