Great on Frame Hits 125. Steam Frame’s Shelf Is Filling Before the Price.

Valve’s Great on Frame shelf just crossed another milestone. A live Steam filter read 125 certified titles today. VR.org counted 121 on September 8, up four from 117 two days earlier — the week the Frame’s summer window runs out of runway.

VR.org’s running tracker and the companion Steam Frame hub are the clearest public ledger of what Valve has actually certified for on-device play. You can confirm the live total yourself: append frame_compatibility=3 to a Steam store search. That is how VR.org takes the count, and how we rechecked it this morning.

From eight titles to a stocked shelf

Great on Frame is the VR sibling of Great on Deck — Valve’s customer-facing certification grid for games that clear a performance bar on the headset’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The page went live in mid-July with a handful of titles. VR.org’s dated changelog is blunt about the curve:

  • July 17: 8 titles
  • August 10: 65
  • August 24: 89
  • August 27: 98 — the wave that brought Beat Saber, Job Simulator, Walkabout Mini Golf VR, Pistol Whip, and the full I Expect You To Die trilogy
  • September 6: 117
  • September 8: 121
  • September 9 (live Steam filter): 125

That is more than a fifteenfold jump in eight weeks. Four new badges in two days (September 6→8) is slower than the late-August surges — exactly what a shelf looks like once it is mostly stocked.

What landed on September 8

VR.org individually confirmed four additions that took the count from 117 to 121:

  • DREDGE (Black Salt Games) — flatscreen
  • BALL x PIT (Kenny Sun and Friends) — flatscreen
  • Everything is Crab: The Animal Evolution Roguelite (Odd Dreams Digital) — flatscreen
  • RUMBLE (Buckethead Entertainment) — native VR

Three of the four are flatscreen catalog games. That is the shape of the whole list: Balatro, Cuphead, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Factorio, Hades, and Portal 2 already sit beside Beat Saber and Half-Life 2: VR Mod. Valve is stocking the Frame the way it stocked the Deck — a general Steam machine with a VR specialty shelf inside it.

What the badge actually measures

Per Valve’s partner docs and VR.org’s summary of the published bar:

  • Standalone VR: hold at least 72 fps at 1728×1728 per eye in normal play. Rendering below 1440×1440 fails and earns Unsupported. Valve announced 90 FPS at GDC 2026 and later revised the published floor to 72.
  • Standalone flatscreen: at least 720p at 30 FPS, a working default control scheme, and full Frame controller support (D-pad left, face buttons right — gamepad mode for non-VR play).
  • Streamed PC VR over the dedicated 6 GHz dongle is exempt — performance there rides on the PC.

The awkward footnote has not changed: Valve’s own The Lab was certified in July, then cut to Unsupported on July 29. A free community mod, Half-Life 2: VR Mod, cleared the same bar days later.

Why the count matters this week

Valve still has not named a Frame price or ship day. Summer 2026 ends September 22. Backend package revisions on September 3 and a reservation system spotted in Steam’s plumbing by Brad Lynch point at an imminent lottery — the same playbook as Steam Machine. PC Gamer’s September 8 write-up of Lynch’s leaks underlined the placeholder draw date of 31 December 1969 and the blunt warning: “Expect nothing. It isn’t ready.”

What is ready is the shelf. With no first-party VR launch title on the calendar, Great on Frame is the launch lineup. Eight titles was a demo reel. One hundred twenty-five is a store. Watch the live filter and the official Steam Frame hardware page — not secondary leaks — for the moment a reservation UI becomes customer-facing.
