UploadVR reports that waitlist emails are LANDING now, and that eBay has carried OUTRAGEOUSLY marked-up Frame listings since Monday’s PRICE reveal. The site’s own reporter landed on the WAITLIST. A fresh WAVE of posts is offering reservation CONFIRMATIONS — not headsets in hand — for a FLIP.
What Valve Actually Sold
Retail remains $1,059 for the 256GB kit and $1,299 for the 1TB kit, each bundled with controllers, a Wi-Fi 6E adapter, and a native Half-Life: Alyx BUILD for the Frame’s ARM silicon. Purchase invites give winners a 72-HOUR window to BUY or LOSE the slot. That process mirrors the Steam Machine queue Valve used earlier this year to CUT bot-driven CHECKOUT races.

Scalpers, Screenshots, and $2,000 Asks

UploadVR stresses the obvious RISK: nobody without a Frame DEV kit can honestly claim a physical headset is READY to ship, and reservation SCREENSHOTS are trivial to COPY or ALTER.
The same pattern already HIT the new Steam Controller. UploadVR notes $100 Controllers listed near $300, with some buyers told they are WAITLISTED into 2027. Frame is the HIGHER-STAKES version of that playbook.
Community Signal, Not Official Fill Rates
Resell Calendar also cites a loose SteamHardware.io community TRACKER: roughly 6,500 self-reports with about 2,000 claiming a reservation SPOT — a rough TWO-to-ONE waitlist TILT among people who bothered to POST. That is NOT Valve’s official fill rate. Treat it as sentiment, not INVENTORY math. The Steam Frame subreddit is similarly FULL of waitlist COMPLAINTS tonight.
Advice That Still Holds
Buy ONLY through Valve when a purchase EMAIL arrives. Do NOT wire money for a screenshot. Reservation holders should WATCH the inbox starting September 18; missed 72-hour windows advance the LINE. Waitlisted buyers may still MOVE UP if invite holders BACK OUT. Selling a delivered headset after Valve’s return WINDOW is a different game from selling a PROMISE.
