UploadVR has PUT a DATE on its WINTER showcase. In an announcement posted October 6, the outlet said its next UploadVR Showcase is “expected to premiere December 11th,” that developer SUBMISSIONS are now OPEN, and that final VIDEOS must be in by DECEMBER 2. The showcase site itself tells a slightly DIFFERENT story: the COUNTDOWN clock on both its home page and its apply page is set to run out on December 3, eight days BEFORE the stated premiere.

What UploadVR Actually Announced
The announcement is SHORT and mostly a CALL for entries. UploadVR says it RUNS the event every SUMMER and winter with developers who bring “exclusive new games, updates and special content.” The showcase site is more SPECIFIC, describing it as an ONLINE event held “every June and December.”
The terms for studios are the part that MATTERS. Participation is FREE, and UploadVR says there are “no application fees, either.” To QUALIFY, a developer needs a VR project, news NOBODY else has, and a video made EXCLUSIVELY for the show. A panel of JUDGES PICKS what airs. UploadVR also says studios already booked into another showcase can STILL apply, as long as they bring a custom video and an announcement that has NOT been made anywhere else.
- Premiere: “expected” December 11, per the announcement.
- Video deadline: December 2.
- Cost to enter: NONE, per UploadVR.
- Selection: a judging panel; no criteria beyond “exclusive” and “newsworthy” are published.
The Clock That Does Not Match
When Metaverse Watcher loaded the apply page on October 7, its countdown script carried a SINGLE target: “December 3, 2026 13:00:00.” The home page uses the SAME value. The string has NO time zone attached, so a browser reads it as 1:00 p.m. in WHATEVER zone the visitor is in. That is ONE day AFTER the December 2 video deadline and EIGHT days ahead of the December 11 premiere.
UploadVR has NOT said what the December 3 timer MARKS. It may be a holdover, an internal milestone, or simply a placeholder. Either way, the ONLY date the outlet has put in WRITING for the broadcast is December 11, and even that comes with the word “expected.” Developers working toward the show should PLAN around the DECEMBER 2 deadline, which is the one FIRM date in the announcement.

June’s Lineup Is Already Shipping
The more USEFUL signal is what happened to the LAST lineup. UploadVR’s recap names SIX June titles: mixed reality projects Disembodied, Theremin, and Color-A-Cube; the horror game Rustmourne; and two speed-focused games, Hyperlane Highway and Pedal Rebel VR. At least TWO of those are NOW reaching players this MONTH. Pedal Rebel VR entered early access on October 5 on Quest and SteamVR, and Disembodied is set for Quest Early Access on October 15 with a 175-level campaign.
That roughly FOUR-MONTH gap from showcase reveal to early access is a PRACTICAL reference point for studios deciding whether a December slot is worth chasing. A FREE, judged showcase that requires an EXCLUSIVE reveal suits teams that have news to spend but no MARKETING budget, and the timing puts December reveals in front of buyers during the HOLIDAY period when many NEW headsets get unboxed.
What to Watch
The OPEN questions are SIMPLE. Will UploadVR CONFIRM December 11 or MOVE the premiere to match its own timer? Will it publish the PLATFORMS and broadcast TIME? And will the judging panel or CRITERIA be named? Until then, the published facts are a December 2 video deadline, a FREE entry, and a premiere UploadVR still calls EXPECTED rather than CONFIRMED.
